smaller tires would help out your acceleration a bit but he would lose top speed, maybe you should just go with a full system pipe, intake, jets, web cam, magura hydraulic clutch kit, and a wiseco piston as soon as they come out with it...read my post called z250s and there is a guy who has a web cam in his z250 and he has all the info you'll need to order one and everything...

Like he said, read that z250 thread. It may take a while, but read the whole thing and you'll come away with a good bit of information.

gettin all that stuff would be pretty expensive. id start off with a pipe and jet kit. that helped mine out alot. i also noticed a great differnece when i got the razrs. smaller tires would help out the bottom end power a little too. you prolly want to know what pipe. i have a white bros E2 pipe and love it. i also hear that the yoshimura pipes are pretty good. check out rockymountainatv.com

mxr4's are pretty much motocross only tires...they're 2 ply so they're not very puncture resistant and they are veeery soft so they will wear very fast so if i were you i'd go razr rears and razr 2 fronts..don't go razr 2 rears because z250s aren't very powerful and the razr 2s have veeeery big sidewallls and so if he tries to whip it around it may roll so razr rears and either razr or razr 2 fronts...i'm gonna go razr2 for fronts because they are very good fro trails and that's what i ride most...and like i said read the z250s post and there is a lot of info about what some people have done with thier z250s and thay can outrun stock warriors and modded 300exs...go full system, or just keep the yosh slip on, but you will gain a lot more power with a big gun evo x full system or pro circuit T-4 silencer with the pro circuit header, web cam and springs will get you a looooot of power, a magura hydraulic clutch, and a high compression piston will get your sons z250 a lot more power...good luck...

oh and also, take off teh air box lid and you'll get a gain in power...you might have to go up a size in the main jet or so, but it'll be worth it with the gain of power that you'll get...your air filter will get dirtier quicker so buy an outerwear for the k and n ( maybe 10 bucks or so?) and then get about 2 of your wifes pantyhose and put it over the air box where the air box lid would go and then you'll still have suffecient power gains while still having a clean air filter...the pantyhose thing sounds weird but it will actually work!...and then when you go to clean the air filter just stick a new layer or 2 on the air box kid and you're good to go!
