You will be fine with 26's. I run 27-12's also with a 3" XPatv lift kit. The rears will stick out past the rear fenders about 3/4 of an inch depending on which offset of rims you get. It is definetly not hard on the drive train. And the handle awesome....

You have have NO PROBLEM at all with 26" tires. In fact you will find they work better than the 25s because they grip better and perform well in extreme conditions. You shouldn't see any power loss either. I too run 27s.
