mm - for knowing a lot about the LTR450 seems like you don't know anything..... it's EFI = fuel injected... therefore no need to jet it.... also.... for pumping the YFZ as much as you seem to have been the past several weeks against the LTR450 - why don't you try and compare it against your own Z400.... for everyones knowledge - mm in past strings was called on this and why he doesn't list the YFZ on his own'd toys list... and reason is.... ready for this everyone... the YFZ isn't even his... it's his brothers......
I've raced my stock one on a TT track against a '05 YFZ450 with 6k alone in motor mods by ESR and it only beat my stock one by less then 2 bike lengths... and there were 10 quads on the track.... all 450's..... and I placed 2nd overall.
Most quads can be made to go pretty fast... but I think Suzuki DID do their homework by giving the buyers a very good quad that can be competitive on the track right out of the showroom. Granted, I have riden an '06 YFZ450 and I agree, Yamaha did give the motor a bit more power stock in '06, but it's no LTR450 out of the box... If you take the stock arrestor/silencer/airbox lid off the YFZ450 it's still no way close to an LTR450... trust me on that one because I've ridden both..... have friends that have both the YFZ450 and the Honda 450R.... heck I almost bought the YFZ450 because I was tired of waiting for Suzuki to finally release it.... I'm really glad I waited...
Before you call the LTR450 a 'pile' try riding one, race against one with someone that knows how to ride it....but for Heavens sake---- stop ripping the quad until you know what it can do....
everyone else.... sorry for the burping... but I had to speak up against this hater.......

mm - The EFI that comes with the LTR will automatically adjust the air/fuel mixture as needed so need to drop anymore $$$. But for $40 the cherrybomb will provide another 7hp more with just what comes from the factory minus the arrestor/air box lid. No programmer needed to beat a stock YFZ450.....
To get crazy the Yoshi aftermarket EMS system (programmer as you reffered to it) that is out there allows for better fuel mapping when useing an aftermarket pipe. My motor builder said that this will also allow for the timing to be adjusted. I can put an aftermarket pipe on the quad and the stock EFI system will adjust accordingly. But the Yoshi EMS system will allow for more adjustments for racing needs.
Read up on it for yourself... http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/ems.asp
