125 is pretty low,it should be like 150-180. A knock could be piston slap or rod bearings. Could it be pinging? With compression as low as that i would be tearing down at least the top end and seeing whats going on,and if you just bought it i would go on and do a piston/rings/bore

I know what I have to say won't help you. But maybe you could help me. I was concidering buying A LT250R for my wife, But I have noticed on this forum there seem's to be alot of problem's with them. Do you think I should go with something else or do you stand behind the 250R?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

Well there seems to be a lot of problems on this forum cause thats what this place is for. people dont sign on and post when thier quad is running great,only when theres problems. These machines are almost 20 years old,so theres always going to be a lot of them in extremely poor shape,but if you know what your buying and take care of it then id put their reliabilty up against any other two stroke quad
