Z400 Help >> Trail Tech Bar Clamps & Rear Grab Bar
#1
I have two questions concerning my '03 z400. First I ordered a Trail Tech Handle Bar Clamp and it has the holes for mounting the indicator lights on it. The problem is I cant figure out how to get the lights out of the stock plastic housing and install them in the new clamp. My 2nd question is that I want to order a rear grab bar, but I looked at the stock grab bar that's on now and it looks like it' welded to the frame. Are most grab bars bolt-on or do they require drilling and welding? The front bumper only has 4 simple bolts.

yeah i bought the same x-bar clamp. I f I remember right you need to pop off the colored lens from the top(remembering which ones which) and pull the light socket out threw the bottem. write down which position they where in so you can put them in the same hole in the new clamp. I think some of the older grab bars are not replacable, they are welded to the frame. stupid isn't it. but they did change that on the newer models when they put in a sub frame!! Good Luck

if your looking for a new grab bar/six pack rack aftermarket ones bolt or clamp on
you dont need to cut any welds to install it. it goes over the old grab bar
I think I have a pic of mine in my pics

Mucky, thats one of the nicest Z's I've seen. Dang, you done good. I just bought the full Yoshi and K&N, but its a far cry from what you've done. I really like the plastics and graphics. Ride On
