Default Hi Fourm and a ?

Hello, just joined but have been lurking for a few months now, I really enjoy this site.

Anyway, I have a '97 LT-FWDX and was wondering where I might find the best deal on a muffler. Mine is rusting out around the spark arrester and is noticably louder, which sounds kinda good just running around, but not really for hunting, which I do alot of.

The dealer where I purchased from closed the doors and I get lost here on the net with all the dang ads and banners.

Looking for opinions please

John

Check with some of the preferd vendors listed on the front page. Go to Ronnies, dennis kirk, or some other dot coms. If it were me and that was the only damage to the pipe / muffler i would just grab my mig and fix it up myself if youve got access to one or similar machine. Some after market pipes like a HMF with the quit core ive heard are pretty quit at low rpm riding as you would be doing while hunting. They get a little louder with higher rpm but the quit core still keeps them from being annoying.

Ebay is always worth checking. You can find some pretty good deal on there if you happen to get lucky.

Hey thanks guys. I don't have a welder at my disposal but I was thinking....... Do you think that a large muffler clamp would work?? My brother-in-law has a dodge diesel and has like a 4" exhaust on it. I'm wondering if a large clamp would seal up tight enough.

What do you guys think about using a clamp for a cheap fix??

John
