Default 06 KQ changes

I am still thinking about getting an new KQ and would like to hear from any 06 owners. Has Suzuki done anything to improve the handling of the new mahine? I've read from a few sources that the 05's were a little twitchy at higher speeds and a aftermarket stablizer was neede to settle it down. Does the same hold true for the 06's?

Only thing changed for the '06 was colors. I myself have yet to experience that twitchiness, honestly. Not saying it isn't there, but I've never felt it, much less had the bars ripped out of my hands like some described. I'm putting bigger and heavier tires on this week though so maybe it will bring out the nervous steering, who knows?

RedGoblin
have you had the A-arms replaced?
I have an 05 and have yet to experience any problems and do not want to give up my quad for the replacement time. I also am going to be installing a different wheel/tire combination within the next few days.

Perhaps you mean the tie rods? In that case, yes. I will hopefully be getting the King back tomorrow from having that recall, the throttle recall and a clutch kit all installed.

Does a clutch kit make all the difference really? How much is a kit. Also what about a power command they make for it now. Does any of these mods decrease longevity?

I'll hopefully be able to tell you how the clutch kit works if my dealer ever gives me my quad back.......but yes, I'll post a report if I get to test it out sometime this year

I have an 06 and have only ridden it once. Both my brother and I noticed the twitchiness of the front end and had it try and pull the handlebars out of our hands when we hit small obsticals. I have ordered a steering stablilizer for it and hope to have it on before my next ride next weekend. I will post how well (or not) it works when I have it on and tested.

I have an '06 Kingquad and have not noticed anything wrong with it, even at high speed.

I test rode a friend's '05 KQ at the Oregon Dunes two weekends ago, and I HAULED ***** across the dunes. I felt absolutely no unusual steering effects. As a matter of fact, it felt amazing. The smoothest riding quad I've ever been on, and I'd just ridden my employee Jaysen's 05 Grizzly 660. The Grizz is smooth, but the King is smoother. I also didn't notice any so called "lag". Honestly, I have no idea what everyone is complaining about. If you guys wanted a race bike, you should have bought something else.
