any ltr 450 mods for sale yet?

That is kind of a silly reason not to get a quad...if it is that good the aftermarket will get big quickly. There wasn't much for my 700 but it only took like a month or so for stuff to start to show up

I have both ( YFZ450 & LTZ450R ), actually I paid for both , my sons are driving them ! However I think that I am crazyer than them !
I bought the YFZ450 in 2005 and like the look of it and was quite fast . We drag race it a couple time (400 feet) and he did really well especially against Honda’s 450R . I personally prefer the look of the Yamaha but the Yamaha's major problem is the reliability . Had problems with the clutch that was loosing up and by the same time destroy the engine . The tranny and the engine share the same oil , very weird .
Recently , I was on the market for another quad , my oldest son sold his banshee ( 75hp at the rear wheels) that was not very reliable also . We went on our Yamaha dealer to get prices and try to find out the new stuff (improvements) on the 2006 YFZ . I ask for warranty , 6 months and no optional warranty available . I was not really surprise they ( Yamaha ) know the reliability of their machine . Then I went on the Suzuki dealer , and they inform me about the OEM 18 months of warranty . I was impressed that they stand behind their products , they must be great machines . I bought one , waited for 2 months and got it 1week ago .
So far , what I can tell you that it is an incredible machine , rides much smoother than the YFZ (trails) and don’t have to play with jetting ( the climate changes every hours here , sometimes it is 45 degree in the day and 10 degree at night , how can a carburator handle that giving the best performances & damaging the engine . Stock ,we dynoed it at 31 hp then we got rid of the exhaust end (no pipes are available yet )and took off the air box cover and we got 39 hp at the rear wheels . We let run the engine for a minute a idle speed and the fuel injected system took care of the changes . Incredible we are use play with carbs jets all the time .
I can’t tell you which one is faster now for 2 reasons , to much snow and ice here in Canada (hard to get traction) and we let the Zuki another week , it is too new . I will keep you posted on it . I promise I will have result soon ! What a dad , making race is 2 , 15 and 16 year old sons . Won't say to my wife I will get killed !

Very good report. I too am one of those guys waiting to see what EFI mods will become available before I drop some cash on a new 450. It will be strictly drag only. So, I guess we will have to hide and watch...

Right now the ONLY mods you need is 1. Remove the Pea-shooter in the stock pipe 2. Remove the airbox lid 3. Install the Yoshi Cherrybomb. Now you have 42-45 HP at your disposal. That will beat most every 450R and YFZ450 with pipes and light mods.
