Default valve springs ?

should i be running aftermarket valve springs since im running a high comp piston and stage 2 cams? a local shop told me i didnt need them unless i had a pretty much strait drag bike or race bike. im going to the clash of the titans (bombardier - forum) sand drags on march 10th-12th in louisiana,so i was trying to get my bike ready in time. when i get back i'll prob. need to get a valve job on it. so i was thinking about put the set of kibblewhite valve springs i have in it. i also am woundering if i should run my cdi at a +1000 rpms with this piston. it revs up fast ,but im not wanting to float a valve.
