Default KQ 700 Air Filter Issue / Dirt Butter Fly Valve

I have 1560 miles on my 05 KQ I have dirt on the air intake butter fly valve. My machine doesn't smoke at this time. What course of action should I take with my dealer? I do plan on changing to a foam with oil filter after I show my dealer the dirt on the valve. I am now concerned that this dirt issue has already caused some damage to my motor. I'm looking for advice on what course of action I should take with my dealer.

Thanks,
mjpmn

Are you smoking? If not, I would change the filter IMMEDIATELY before riding again, clean the intake (there's a thread on this somewhere here or on Nyroc's Forum) and just go. Make sure you use a sealing grease around the bottom of the filter where it meets the intake. You will probably be alright.

I've got 3600 miles on my '05 KQ and seen the dirt on the throttle plate also. It doesn't smoke or use any oil, so I think it's ok. I switched to a Twin Air filter now. I went to 2 dealers in my area, they won't do anything about it, cause Suzuki hasn't put out any recalls on it yet. I ate the $80 for the Twin Air myself.

Has anyone that cleaned their intake and installed a different filter actually checked again to see if it was permitting dirt after some significant amount of use? DavAsh, what do you mean? I don't post on this forum nearly as much as on Nyroc's, but I'm always checking in, probably at an amount many would deem "unhealthy"

Red I have checked mine several times and it has stayed clean. I just haven't seen you post on either site for a few days. Just checking with you.

Well the clutch kit is great, but the tires and rims are such a sad story that I don't really care to repeat it. You can look at my whole ordeal on the Supergrip thread over at Nyroc's
