Default 02 Vinson 500 4x4 auto questions

Are these pretty good quads? I have decided on a fun 4x4 utilty and the price is right on this one. It has about 1800 miles and the guy said it was mostly used around farm never on trails and that it runs good. I don't know if this is a good thing or bad. It also has new brakes and front bearings. Pretty much all I have to do is change the oil. Is there anything to look out for with these quads or are they good? Also, he said the front fender is cracked. Is it hard or expensive to find plastics for these things? Thanks!

Mine are cracked also. I wouldnt bother if u plan on ridding then they get all banged up. Just make sure it runs and 4x4 works. How much is it if u dont mind me asking? The Vinson is very reliable and the engine has been used for years so its proven.

$2,500 seems like a pretty good deal. The guy said he really needs some cash right now. Is the shifter issue a big deal with these that I keep reading about?

I had trouble with my transmission on my 02 vinnie. I was told that it is critical to depress the back brake fully before shifting it. Make sure you do that! My frames don't seem to have any issues. I jump them pretty hard quite a bit and I weigh a ton! Go for it!!

According to Kelly Bluebook, trade-in is about $2700, and retail is about $3900. If it were for sale around here, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Of course, I'd offer him $2300 cash, because of the cracked plastic. The worst that could happen is that he would say "no". If he did, then you could still get it for the $2500.
Good Luck!
