Im getting my frame powdercoated. i was wondering if i have to retap all the holes for the screws after its done or do they cover them up. I was also wondering about those things in the gooseneck. (the things that are slanted inward so the bearings stay in place) Could they keep the coating off this stuff? cause my bearings rest on it and when i turn the bearings turn on it and i dont think i am able to replace them. please if you have any info on this subject post it. by the way its for my rm 250. not my 230 quad sport. i know this isent a dirtbike forum but more people poedercoat the atv frames so im asking it here. sorry for any inconvienence.

When I had my frame powdercoated, they put these little cone shaped plugs in all the bolt holes. So, no you do not need to tap the threads. I did just to make sure they were clean, but not from wrecked threads.

Also, point out everything that you do not want coated. No matter if you think it is a no brainer.

I was told to remove every bearing, which I did. But I am not sure about the one you are talking about. Best bet, ask the powdercoated guy. Mine does a lot of racing applications, so he was familar with certain parts.
