Default Back Fire

Hey, I have an 05 Vinson and every time I go to shut it off it back fires. The bikes stock except for I took the spark arrestor out of the exhaust. But it still back fired when I had the arrestor in it. Any ideas? Im gonna stick a new spark plug in it and see what happens.

You might need to adjust your timing or your valves. My old LTF-250 did the same thing and I had to adjust the timing.

Taking it out is simple. On the 05 there is an allen head bolt under the exhaust tip, unscrew it and pull the end of the tip off. You have to use some force to get it out. Sounds way deeper with it out. I figured out the backfiring problem though, it was my idle, had it high for winter. Adjusted it to a lower idle and now it doesnt back fire. Thanks guys for the help.
