Default New Tires for Eiger

Hi all,

I'm looking for opinions on new tires to replace my stock 25" dunlops for my Eiger 4x4 Manual.

I ride 95% hard pack trails with a lot of gravel & paved roads connecting them. I use it around my house for pulling trees through the woods and for plowing snow. For this type of work, I'd like a little more ground clearance, I'm not sure what the Dunlops actually measure so I'm looking for a 1" taller tire. (So I guess depending on the brand, this could be anywhere from a 25" - 27" tire).

I'd prefer not to have a very heavy tire (particulary since I'm going taller and probably wider) and I'd like to keep my budget under $300 including tax/shipping.

I know MudLites come recommended for smooth riding hard pack, but the gravel/paved roads have me worried about them wearing out fast. I like the reviews I've seen on the Highlifter MSTs, but they are running over my budget.

All opinions are welcome.

Thanks,

Mick

I know that redgoblin has mentioned superlight supergrips, a tire on ebay that has similar tread to the mud lite but a harder rubber compund. they should also cost less.

I put Dirtdevils on my Eiger after wearing out the stock tires. These have proven to be excellent replacements.
Run a lot of both mud and snow. Does very well in both.

If I were to go out and buy a new set of tires right now, I'd be getting some Maxxis Alltracs or Goodyear MT-R's....I think you can get both of them for under 300

5spdvinsn,

I did a search for superlight supergrips here, on other forums, as well as on Google. Only found about 3 references to them. Do you know who makes them and are they still in production?

Thanks,

Mick

There arent any on ebay right now, try a google search for supergrip superlight. That should pull up a few different sites.
