What size Tires for Z400 ?
#1
I have a 04 z400 and I would like to replace the tires with a larger size to gain more ground clearance.
I have been looking at the ITP XCT 22x11x9 rears and 23x7x10 fronts.
ITP claimes that this is the tallest sport atv tire that they make.
I know that I will have to gear down my atv to be able to pull the new tires.
But are these tires to big for the gears that I can purchase and has any one had these tires.
What do you think?

Hey RapidRobert, what's up? I rode with you last summer at Altmar/Happy Valley, blue YFZ. I think the DVX will have no problems with those tires. You should easily be able to change out sprockets though if the gearing feels a bit tall. I have ridden several sets of Holeshots, though never the XCT's. They seem to do pretty well in our type of terrain, and probably what I will put on my quad next. Razer 2s or Holeshot HD's might be better in the mud, but then again you have the King for that now ITP also has a new tire coming out designed for GNCC, ground clearence should be pretty good on that one too.
Did any of the Tug Hill road closures affect Happy Valley at all?

I have been trying to sell the dvx and have not had any one on it.
It is brand-new and I never road it. I paid $5,200.00 with tax and I have been advertising it in the paper and would sell it for $4200.00
I feel that a $1,000.00 beating is a enough.
If it does not sell by may I am going to put some bigger rubber on it and ride it, at least that way I will get something for the money that I am going to be inevitably loosing on it.
The trails we road on last year have not been affected by the government yet and we also have some more area that we have been riding on that is better suited for sport atv's 2 sand tracks and some open trails that you would enjoy.
I will contact you when we are riding. Rapidrobert 137

That is to bad about the DVX. For what it is worth, I didn't have any trouble negotiating what we rode last September on my stock 20" rear tires. A good swingarm skid may be a better investment than the tires, as I have used mine to "slide" through areas I probably shouldn't have been, lol. Anyways, good luck with your quad, I am looking forward to riding out your way this year.
