Hi, is the Lt250r a reliable atv, i know its awesome and everything, but its a 21 year old design now. Can you still get new parts for them at a good price, or even at all? Thanks.

you can find new and used parts on ebay, and on your local dealer or stores, the only drawback is that they tend to blow the head gasket once in a while

I think if you keep it stock and do regular maintainance it would be pretty reliable in 2 stroke terms. I bought a z400 so I wouldn't have to work on mine all the time.

Make sure you put that head gasket on with the holes (or bigger holes) for the water jacket on the exhaust side. It will fit the wrong way, and it is not marked. If you put it on backwards there's an excellent chance you'll toast your top end right at the exhaust port.

good call on gasket and set ring end gap clearance . and while the topend is off file the port chanferds to a nice 45. I ported the ports my self. I round my ports to make the rings pass smoothly. stock trim shes good to go . But its easy to make alot of power out of them and it needs after market parts to help reliablity. cool head good investment. Way better than the fancy rims.
