Default polishing 86 lt250r motor

does anyone know what the cylinder/cases on an 86 lt350r are made of? i know the 87-92's are aluminum, but what are the 85/86's? are they as easy to polish as the 87-92?

There cast aluminum, so you would have to sand the **** out of it too get it close to polishing.

Personally I wouldn't polish the whole motor, it's going to be to hard to keep it shinned up... I would paint the cases and then polish the sidecovers.. I am speaking from experience I have my stator cover, my clutch cover, swingarm, front bumper, rear grab, nerf bars, and all 4 wheels polished plus my a-arms and axle are chromed which need polished to.. And I hate it lol.... It looks incredibly awesome when everything is shinned up but taking the time to shine everything after a days riding.. but if you want some pictures of it let me know cause the ones on here are older...
