Default Z400 Question

I was told between 6/12 months to readjust. I never did mine for 2 years and never had a problem. but its good to have them checked
to make sure if they need it. you have to buy a shim kit to adjust the valves. and a normal kit runs around $80 and it has around 100+
shims in it. if you have never done it then it can take awhile. on a scale from 1-10 and 10 is the hardest I would give it a 7.
it took me 45min to adjust my valves and I had the head off and the cams loose on the table when I was rebuilding.
so it can take awhile. you have to measure the valve lash and then see what the specs are and then you look at the chart in the service manual
to see what size the shim is to install for that valve. once both valves a re done install the cam and turn it to get the oil out between the shims and then you measure again. if its not in specs then you start over again that why it can take time to do it. good luck Mucky

Default Z400 Question

if you know what shims you need you can buy just those instead of the whole kit like what was said before.
I got the kit so if I have a problem I dont have to see if somebody have the right size
