z400 should i get it
#1
Hello i'm new here, im an athletic kid and around 5'6" and 130lbs or so, and athletic. I've been riding mainly for 4/5 years, i rode a sportsman 500s, a sportsman 700, a BRP Outlander 400, and a '87 Honda trx 125. The only one i felt a little too powerful was the 700, but i want to change over to the sport class. My 125 you shift with an auto clutch so i'm good at that. I'm not sure if a z400 should have too much power for me or not, mainly i do trail riding, no racing or anything of that nature. I was also thinking of a z250 with a few mods. The other thing about the z400 is the manual clutch, i dont think i'd be too good at it, but i can pick up on things pretty well.
Thanks for anything.

Based on my experience with one you can use it for a good trail bike and minor racing but if you ever decide to do serious racing get the new DLR450. A friend is a serious rider and I have spent many a night welding the z400 frame due to cracking. We have read other sites that say this was a problem as well and with the 450 they redesigned the areas the 400 was cracking. The rider is 5'9" at 145.
Good thing is the performance and reliabilty of the motor and drive train. The bike has a ton of low end torque with me on it and I am 6'3" and 225. Just my $0.02
