GAS PRICES

GAS WAR - an idea that WILL work
This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. It ' s worth your consideration.
Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.89 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..... not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

yeah I got this on a chain letter a week or so ago. It sounds like a good idea. I really agreed with it after I heard one of the CEOs from I think Exxon retired not long ago with something like $4 Billion ( not Million ) in his retirement fund. I bet he has a gas card thats paid for by Exxon as well, probably why he doesn't/didn't care how much the public pays. Down with EXXON !~

I'll go along w/ that!!! Especially since they're the ONLY ones bragging about their " record " profits last quarter. ( $37 BILLION I believe it was ) And knocked off Wal-Mart to be #1. That says A LOT! I have been boycotting Exxon ever since I saw that about 2-3 weeks ago. I can't stand rich arrogant people. From what I've seen, even Bill Gates doesn't act like that -and he ALONE is worth nearly TWICE that!!! GREAT idea!!!! IMO, our gov't COULD do "something" but LOL for that. I'm off my soapbox now. Thanks!

yeah, I don't think I can get real excited about a hybrid quad or for that matter a quad that has power from cooking oil. But you never know what they will think of next. "Introducing the Honda 675 Hybrid 4x4" haha
Just thought I would leave a site you can contact to read these topics :
EXXON CEO
Just a blurb for you :
Looking at his annual pay, according to one compensation analyst, the company was paying Mr. Raymond more than $400 million for the last year of his contract and $686 million for his service from 1993 to 2005.Text
So yeah I guess that 4 billion may have been a rumor but as you can see it wasn't off by far. I am definatly in the wrong business.

I'm game... I also heard how that old fart retired with a multi-billion dollar retirement check...... that's such a load of crap... not like he found the cure for cancer or AIDS or even at least helped keep the gas prices down...... some of our hard earned green backs are now sitting is his bank account.... for what.....
This has to be a clear example of price gouging...
To earn it company's like his should BE the ones to negotiate the lower prices with them rag heads.... Take us back to the .98 cent per gallon days.... then I wouldn't have cared at all because then he would have EARNED that kind of retirement....
