BlackKawi - I just got the same exact carb you have.. Question though... what do you have the two yellow hoses that are zip tied together connected to??? I just want to make sure I connect it correctly and couldn't figure out what they are for. The guy I got it from didn't have any of the manuals for it ....

I just got this carb off of ebay out of Canada.

Thanks.

They are just breather hoses, they don't connect to anything.

Just make sure they are in a place that won't make them kink or bind. They should just hang down below the carb.

Default z 400 carb ???

Cool. Thanks guys.... I'm going to take the carb and quad back to my motor builder after work today so we can dial it in with the new carb tonight. Tomorrow is the first race on the 434 (TT) since the rebuild. I'll take picts of the Z next to the LTR and post picts on Monday.

On the carb, I found that it was missing the air/fuel mixture screw/spring/washer.... I'm going to have to pilfer these from my motor builder to get the quad on the track tomorrow. And the seller said that it was complete... oh well.. At least I got the carb b-4 the race.... I'll think twice before ordering anything on ebay from Canada/out of the US in the future. It took 15 days(not counting Sat/Sunday's) for the package to get here. AND it was sent priority on the packing slip.... Was still way cheaper then ordering direct from Sudco. (1/2 price)

Hopefully w/in the next 2-3 weeks I'll have my pipe on the LTR and will dyno both of them. I'm itching to see what they run at now.

Blackkawi - what jetting are you running in your FCR carb (primary/main & air bleeds)? We fummbled with that darn FCR till about 10pm last night and just couldn't get that 41 mil FCR to work right.... Ended up putting the stock carb back on with more adjustments. It hits really hard now to the point where it's violent at 1/4 - 3/4 throttle now with the stock carb. But I can see that it's lacking at the top end with the stock carb.

Also, it seems like the vacume feed for the petcock can't keep up with the need for gas so we're running in the PRI setting... Everything has been tripple checked.... Anyone else have this problem??? It just started since we rebuilt the motor...

Any help you can give will help.

Thanks...

That particular carb you must run on PRI. block off the vaccum port altogether on the petcock.

I run a 50 pilot / 170 main, 3rd clip on the needle, 3 1/2 turns out on the fuel screw.

I have no idea what needle I'm running or what the air jet is.

Hope this helps you out.
