Default 2003 suzuki eiger timig

Hello... Anybody ever had the head & cylinder jug off of a suzuki 2003 400cc 4x4 eiger? I have ring problems and need to
replace them. The disassembly and reassembly is not a problem, however there does not appear to be markings on the cam
gear to make sure the timing is correct. Also, is neccessary to pull the side casing, drive belt, drive and driven clutch to
see the crankshaft gear while timing? Or, can the piston be brought to TDC and set the gears and chain this way ???

Thanks

Chris

Use a center punch and make your own marks. A quality punch will make marks in the hardest gears. Set for TDC on the compression stroke and make your marks...
