Default LT250R for cheap, should i get it?

Hey guys,
I was very close to getting a warrior for $800(you might have read that thread) Well i was going to pick it up and bring him the money for it and i noticed he was letting neighborhood kids ride it and they were abusing it bad. So i told him i didn't want it.

Anyway,
I can now get a perfect running 87LT250R for $800. Low miles and no problems at all. I'm just wondering , I am 5"10 and 130 pounds. Will this quad feel like it has enough power to wheelie ? Will i feel cramped?

Thanks

Just messing man, weighing a buck-thirty that bike will feel nice and fast, much faster then the warrior would have been. Just one thing to keep in-mind, the 87 is kinda the bastard year, 85-86 had one motor, 88-92 had the same motor and 87 had its on thing going on. So when you need stuff for the 87 they might be specific to that year and harder to find. But they did have the power valve that year and the largest carb (I believe) so it should be pretty fast. If I found that bike for that price I am pretty sure Id be all over it.

Well someone got to it before me

Anyway, I can get a yamaha blaster thats has a full fmf exhuast system (fatty gold series and turbine core 2 silencer), it has been bored over 80, and jetted , it has power reeds, and newer back tires, and newer back rims (itp), team alba throttel cover, nerf bars, full skid plates, block off kit, new front bumper, new chain, back end has new bearings and seals.

Like i said im 5'10" and 130. How does the size of the blaster compare to the LT250? Is it so much smaller i will feel cramped? Also how does the one describes above compare to a stock LT250?

You should have jumped on the lt while you could. The 88 and later cylinder bolts right up. The only difference I noticed was the intake being bigger. They made it smaller after that, to increase velocity. The 87 has the same size reed cage as the zilla.

I have never road a blaster, but just by the looks ok them they are small. I am only 5'6" and think its small. Some people really stand by those thing though. As for the weight, the power would probably be good, probably equal to that warrior or even better.

I had a blaster and I liked it. Not really a powerful quad though. There is a lot you can do to them, but they are pretty much a beginer quad in stock trim. Coming from a warrior, I'd look for a used 400ex or z400.

You were worried about the 250R not having enough power to wheelie and you want a Blaster? The Blaster is a lot smaller but power wise it is no where near being in the same class as the 250. I'm 5'11" and 200lbs and can wheelie the 250 all day. I also feel pretty comfortable on it. For that price I would have jumped all over it. Since it's gone I'd look for another one although it most likely won't be anywhere near that cheap but if I was looking for one unless I got a smoking deal like that I'd try to get one made after 87.

I love my 250R. The only thing I like better is a 230 I ride quite a bit. It isn't anywhere near as big or fast but I like being able to play around doing stand up on the seat wheelies and stuff like that. the 250 will flip you backwards before you know whats going on if you try something like that.
