well if u want feedback from others, ur gonna have to post this thread in the yamaha section and the honda section as well. people might tell u that the suzuki r450 is better just cuz this is a suzuki thread and u will get the same results from the honda and yamaha threads. again, i may be wrong but it u have to try them out and make the decision on ur own.

it all depends if you want fuel injected or carbs. all 3 are nice quads and each have their problems. the yfz is a fast quad, the trx is based of the 400ex and suzuki's 450 is the first year of production so it might have a few problems to deal with. If I was to get another quad I would get the honda before the yfz. Im not much for yamaha and since its the first year of suzuki I would have to choose between suzuki and honda. IMO
you need to go sit on all 3 and see what feels good to you. you'll get a lot of opinions just do a lot of research

I had to make the same decesion not to long ago. After reading everything I could and knowing where I ride I went with the Honda. It's an awesome quad! No problems what so ever.

the trx450r is so much more than the yfz450 or the suzuki but i know some guy that has a trx450r and my brother hase a yfz450 blck/yellow and i have the lt-r 450r its like riding on a bench but if you want speed my brother cant touch me and the trx450r is no where close to either one of us but it s so much more comfortable

Guys now that i have the z400, i am a really good beiliver, i have always been a suzuki, fan, I heard alot of good thangs abnout the ltr-450, before i really seen one, and rode it, i Know it is a nice quad and all, but i bielive it is a lil more than what its put up to be...a buddy of mine has a yfz, with a few mods ,and another buddy of mine just bought the suzuki, and hassled the boy with the 450, all day, b/c i said the suzuki is gona blow u away, ...BUT, that evin, i sorta got hassled by hijm, b/c the drag race didnt quite go the way, i figured it would, the yfz one, by a good bit, i dont know if it was lack of experience, from the boy on the ltr, but, yea he lost...the yfz aint the most comfortables thang, but power wise, its pretty awesome...but, lik the other guys said, just look at each one, and find ur likes and dislikes, and get wat makes u happy....everyone has there own opinions, so, u just have to get out there, and see for ur self, but u cant go wrong with any of them, they r all great bikes...But great luck on chosen a bike, ....If u want anymore opinons, post 'em, i dont care one bit to help anyone out with wat i now, ...which it might not be to much, lol....but, theres plenty of guys on here that now wat there talkin about....thanks.

In August of this year I was in about the same place as you. So what I did was, I went to the dealer and checked all 3 of these bikes out. Before buying one of them they all need to be maintained alot more then just about every other bike other then the 2 strokes. Coming from having alot of seat time on my comfortable ds650,and being 6 ft and 160 pds, I was looking for the bike that had the best ergonomics. The 450r being the winner of the baja for the past couple of years was also a plus, which told me that this bike can endure the worse beating in the world. My second choice was the suzuki quadracer 450 and for a certain amount of time I liked the Suzuki and Honda about the same. The width and efi vs carb had nothing to do with my choice. I have had a Suzuki in the past which i liked very much so I am not biased on a certain product jus because I have the Honda 450r. I liked the Yamaha the least as it wasn't comfortable for me like the Honda was and the Suzuki. Just the give you heads up there are supposed to be 3 new 450's coming out withing a few months(gas gas 450, can am 450 but has yet to be seen or any knowledge of the quad, and Kawi 450 with reverse) just to let you know that you may want to wait and see all of the quads before making a final choice. Any choice you make though is a great one like mentioned before, but if you don't treat them with respect and maintain them you could get hurt or damage the quad since they are all fast and high performance machines.

It kinda depends on what you are going to do with the quad, The yamaha is the fastest Honda the second fastest, and suzuki is the third fastest from the factory. You can add exhaust to all three and get pretty much the same results.
Now if you add the cherrybomb to the suzuki a $39.00 mod, it will close the gap some in a drag race.
From what I have read the suki 450 handle quite a bit better, due to its wider stance making it the best handling and cornering. I bought a new Z400 last year and wish I would have waited on the suki 450 to come out.
