Hey everyone, im planning on getting a suzuki z400 and I need some more advice from you guys. Are there any problems with the z's from 03' - '06? Should I watch out and stay away from certains years? Also i'm really, really new to this kinda stuff and know almost nothing about engines or atv's for that matter. I can ride one just fine but I have no idea even how to begin modding/upgrading one if I ever a Z. 90% of what everyone says on this forum, I don't understand [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]. Does any one also know if there is some sort of book? or website that can give me a guide to learning and doing all this? Thank you to anyone who can help me out here

 

I think the 03 models had some issues with there frame's. I dont know of any problems from 04 to 06.

 

get 05 or 06, the frame lacks important gusseting on the earlier models...thats it except for the magnesium clutch covers on the newer models, but thats a pretty easy fix...just make sure you know that the cover is ok before you buy it... where in CT are you?

 

get the 05/06 better suspension. do a lot of reseach on the forums, there's lots of info out there
learn how the quad feels and reacts first before you start to mod the bike

 

im in pomfret connecticut, no where to really ride around here except the airline trail, even there d-e-p sits infront of gates and if you're caught more than once they take your quad [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
