Which winch to get for Eiger
#2
The 1500lb will get the job done but it will be tasked if you ever get really stuck in some deep mud. I would get the 2500lb at the minimum. If you do get the 1500 make sure that you get a ****** block, that will double your pulling power. Having an eiger though, you shouldent get stuck, but you will need the winch to pull out your buddys, lol.

I have the 2.5ci and it has came in handy a few times. Most recently this past Saturday night when a friend of a friend rolled his three week old Honda (400 or 450?) down the side of a ravine after trying to cross a diagonal log that was laying across the trail. It rolled about 65 feet till it came to a stop up side down. We flipped it over and it fired right up. We turned it back toward the top of the hill and got close enough that I could reach it with the fifty foot of cable I had and winched it all the way to the top. Of course it was running but there is no way we would have ever gotten it out without the winch. It was definitely a life saver for him and I'm not so sure a 1500lb pull would have done the job successfully. I say go with at least the 2500lb rated pull for situations like that. Better to over prepare than under. If I could go back I would have bought the 4.0 Warn but this one has been handy on a few occasions. Of course it was always pulling out someone else's ATV though.

Hey guys thanks for the help. Went and picked up a 2.5ci. A little more work to install that what i thought, but i goter' done. Went out in a swamp near by to look for some mud, and i foun some but couldnt manage to get stuck lol But i can say that i feel more confident about going into a mud hole, not worrying about how to get out if i get stuck. Thanks again.
