Vinson Brake Bleeding?
#1
Hey Guyz,
I recently replaced the rear brakes on my 2002 Suzuki Vinson (AGAIN) and now have no braking power at all.
I was told to bleed them, but can't seem to get anywhere.
I tried to just pump it up like normal but it won't stiffen up. SO, I began to bleed them with no avail.
I made sure at each connection that the fluid was getting there, then eventually blead them dry at the nipple.
I replaced the fluid, but now am back to square 1 with nothing, NOTTA...
Any ideas how to "Properly Bleed brakes?"

Sounds like youve got a stuck slider.
When the caliper is off the disk...can the caliper move separate of the bracket? The caliper needs to 'float', on the bracket, so the pads can self center while wearing.
Most likely youll find it wont move, in which case, itll take some work to free it up. That slider usually has locktite on the threads, and the slider is probably coroded to the bore of the caliper, and can be a real bear to loosen up and remove to relube it. Use a good quality synthetic caliper grease, and do the smaller slider pin too.
If all else fails, you can find used, good condition calipers on ebay.,because new ones are about 150.

Its all done and now working better than when the bike was new.
I just had to adjust the round cylinder thingy that pushes the inside brake shoe out. Turns out the the outer shoe was pressing in on the disc, but the back brake shoe was not out enough to provide stopping power.
I have excellent working brakes with well lubed calipers and new fluid.
Thanks Alot!!!!
