That was the hot setup in the early days of the big bore MX classes. I dont know if any of you remember him, but I think the guys name was Barry Mcartny. He had a LT2 chassis with the LT5 engine and whipped Zilla and Banshee tail for 2 years straight in the late 1980s. There were alot more guys doing the swap after that. Thank's For the info, I just finnish registering on the other forums hopfully I will be able to login tomorrow. I do remember some one cleaning house with the hybrids, even in the Dirtwheels Mag. I remeber they have a small shoot out Lt250R vs hybrids Lt500r done by Trinity or CT Racing.

Thank's Again for the replies

Hi,
It's absolutely the best swap out there to do.
I've done over 15 of them for friends/customers/myself. (I still own 3 of them)
W/minor mods you can have an 75-85 HP bike that weighs 300 lbs in sand duning trim and looks like the factory put the motor there.
My "Ol Reliable" hybrid duner have spanked many a "race bike" and looks basically stockish.
Oh yeh, lucky for you and any other "Zuki" fans I now make my DR Q pipes available for the hybrids.
There are pics of the bike/pipes on Planet Sand in the 2-stroke section and in my Photos on this site.
Good luck,
RK

RK You seem to have alot of practice at this. I'm planning on using this Swap for MX style of race, so far I've been using my old 85' Lt250r it has +2 A-Arms with Fox Shocks also the top mount is move up like th 87' model. The engine is Ported and Re-chambered Dome all done by CT Racing plus 36mm Kehin Carb. I'm still under powered compared to 250r's & 450's, My Goal is to do some damage to the podium aboard an old Suzuki. There is no class engine size at our local track, since were lucky if we get 7 rider on the gate. I was looking at your picks, and I notice the massive pipe, looks awesome, but for MX style I think I'll burn my knee? Is it difficult too swap engine ? or is it simple ? Do's & Don't

Thanks Again
Gaetan

Hi,
Like they say "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
Do a search on this swap and find out for yourself.
If you want a pipe that will burn your leg, buy a CT/ Power Pros.
I know where there is a couple for sale.
Good luck,
RK
