Default Z400 yes or no

I am searching for a new quad, and the z400 seems to be the one. But before I drop 5800 on it I want to hear from peeps that have one. I know about the case cover problem, but is there anything else on a 06 that I should talk to the stealer before I get it?
Also anyone have the black, and if you do how much of a pain is it with the upkeep on the plastic?

i have a kfx400, and it was the greatest atv decision i have ever made. these atv's have a good amount of power and a huge supply of aftermarket parts to make them really rip. I would kill for some black zuki plastics, i was actually thinking about going aftermarket and getting them. Upkeep on stock plastic is pretty easy, of course you are going to get scratched up a bit if you ride the trails but nothing a little wash and wax doesn't clear up. Personnaly i haven't had any problems with my plastic and the bike has run great.

I know the Z400 is a great quad but for a couple hundred more you could get a Black 450R.

I think that u should get the z400. my freind has one and he loves it almost as much as his yamaha 450. also it will smoke the kfx 400 by a couple lengths.

I really do want a 450 but its not just a couple hundred, almost 1,500 more. Its 5,799 and the 450 is 7,399- are these prices common.

I am still contemplating this purchase as well. Now I'm wondering if the z400 with $1200 to $1500(the dif in price) in hop ups, would be badder than the r450? I don't have one yet, but I am convinced these two are the top 2 in their class.

Well, one of my freind had a z400 and it had everything u could put on it and when the yfz 450 came out he bought one of those and he had me race his 400 against him on his 450 and i came pretty close, also the 400 was a 2003. and the 450 was a 05. but i think it would be pretty close considering that the 400`s have gained alittle, but i think the 06` 450`s have a full 450cc then 440.
