Default CVT Belt Slipping on KQ 700

My 700 has 300 miles on it. When I brake heavily, and then throttle up quickly, my belt seems to be slipping. How can I troubleshoot this problem? Any good tips?

Thanks.

I believe there was a thread similar to this one on Nyroc's forum. Does it make a strange sound, too? I'll try to find the thread, but you might consider a clutch kit......

Yep, that's what it is doing. Can you adjust the tension on the stock clutch springs? I don't recall my quad doing this when I bought it. It just started.

Thanks for the info.

No, you cannot adjust stock spring tension, but you can certainly buy a stronger spring via either Dalton (also comes with lighter roller weights = better acceleration) or EPI (more expensive, but along with roller weights and the spring, also comes with internal "wet" springs = slightly more stall before takeoff = even more acceleration enhancement, also harder to install though).

My KQ has done this since I've had it...when I stop as fast as possible and start to take off again I hear a loud whelp from the belt. I just don't ever stop that hard normally so I've never done anything about it...and I have nearly 1200 miles on it now and the belt doesn't slip any other time udner normal riding conditions.

Big Bear,
Have you ever cleaned your clutches?
You can also just buy the EPI main spring for about $20 shipped and the roller weights for less than $50 shipped tot he lower 48.
PM me if you would like the info on the EPI clutch parts.

Thanks
David

Hello David,

I have not cleaned the clutches. What is the proper procedure for doing that?

Yes, I would like info on the parts. I am interested in trying to stop the barking, if possible.

Thanks,
SCF
