Default flooded 2006 z400

i had my boyfriend install the skid plates on the z400, and he moved the fuel switch from "on" to "prime", thinkin it was the "off" switch (he rides dirtbikes, and never had seen a "prime" switch).. so the bike was on tail end for 30-45 minutes with the switch on prime, and when i went outside there was gas everywhere. now the bike will not start and is extremely flooded. how can i fix this? the bike has been sittin for at least a day now and still will not start. could there be damaged to the bike? this bike is less than a week old... and help would be great

Sounds like the carb is flooded. Unlikely if the engine was damaged. You will have to drain the carb.

Yup, drain the carb. Clean the spark... just for "kicks"... and if you would like, take the carb out, and clean it, or atleast let it dry even more. It still may not of dried out sitting there... just open the carb up, and dry. Them make sure when you put it back on you put the gas onto the "on" position.
