86 LT250R BackFIRE out of the Carb ????

Default 86 LT250R BackFIRE out of the Carb ????

ok, guys im an 87 LT Man not an 85-86, my buddys LT Backfires out of his new 34mm pj kehin carb and this thing runs like crap, its got a K&N clamp on filter, and I just put on his AAEN pipe, im thinkin maybe his reeds are bad

no takers hmm, oh and i also found out that the carb was bought new from dennis kirk for a blaster, im thinkin the jets are setup to small, what are you guys runnin so i can get a base line of where to start out its a keihin carb it has a 145 main in it

Well I got a 91 lt250 an im runnin a 250 main, i think they came stock with a 180 or 190, so your wayyyyyyy too small on that one, the other jets in there are probly too small too, try a 200 or something, its better gettin too much gas then too little you'll know when its gettin too much it will bog right down, hope that helps.

you have a keihin carb and ur running that high of jets, Ive been foolin around with it and leaning it more it seems to be working. it was running rich with the 145 main and a 65 pilot, i droped the clip and on the needle 2nd down from the top and threw in a 58 pilot. lots better, just need to get a couple or one size smaller main and i think it will be good
