anyone ridden one on trails? not really tight ones, but trails where you can easily fit 2 quads side by side.. how does it handle the wider trails?

I rode son's on some logging trails. The suspension was a tad stiff but once we got that adjusted it handled beautifully.

ok cool, im getting a 450 soon im pretty sure on the suzuki. i will usually be using it on the trails around here and wide open dirt roads where i have a little home away from home in the woods . there is also a big open sand pit with jumps there as well. if i put bigger tires and some nice skids on there i think it should be pretty nice for me.

We went riding this weekend and the guys parked next to us had 2 LTR 450's and other guy had a Raptor 700. I asked them how they did since the place we were at was all trails. One 450 was completely stock other had the usual mods (exhaust, intake, filter, no lid, and cherry bomb) plus he had went up a tire size to 20r/21f. They said the one with bigger tires handled all the trails real well (some are nice and wide but some where smaller and more technical) but the stock one had alot of problems bottoming out on the secondary trails.

Ya have a good idea thats what I ride as well lol

It is a awesome trail bike and has a ton of torgue. I like all the 450's but for me the 700 is the best for the riding I do. It handles well and lugs down great. It produces its power down low in the gears so this works great for trail riding.

That's what my son did, skid plates and 20" Holeshot GNCC tires on the rear. He's quite happy with it. It's still stock but not for too much longer.

My seat time on a 660 is very limited but the 2 really dont compare in the handling department. Yamaha did a good job of addressing all the geometry problems the 660 had. The 700 is different from the frame up, they share a name and similiar plastic and thats about it. The 660 was a good quad but the handling suffered some.
