Z400 VS KFX700
#7
I've raced the 400ex with my kfx700 on a straight paved road.I can jump the 400ex off the line and pull ahead about 2-3 bike lengths and thats the way we will run for 3/4 of a mile.Top ends are probably about the same.I havent raced the z400 but I've seen the 400ex race it and their about even. And LTZGUY can probably beat the KFX if he's got the mods he's said he's got but I think you were asking about stock bikes.

They are pretty even depending on rider and conditions ..........
My '05 400 and my Father '04 700 have raced dozens of times and I have beaten him as much as he's beaten me ........... top speed I always catch him simply because he runs out of gearing while mine is still pulling in 5th .......
But generally whoever gets the jump off the line can hold the lead .........

On a flat (dry) field and a 400' WOT run, my 700R (stock) will take a KFX700 that was running a dual exhaust system. Didn't notice what kind of exhaust, but it was loud. I don't know if it had clutch work done to it or not. The KFX700 rider was probably at least 60 lbs lighter than I was too. It was a close race but I was ahead the whole time, and we did several runs with the same results. The very first time we ran he got the jump on me and I couldn't catch him. On that run we didn't have a starter, we watched each other and I took off as soon as I saw him go. After that, we set up a starter at the far end and that's when I beat him consistantly the rest of the time (3 runs I think it was).
There were also couple of Z-400s there (two '06 models) that were both piped & jetted. They both lost to the KFX700...
