i was looking at aftermarket carbs for my 87 quadsport 230. the biggest one is a 44 mm. is this too big for my quad or would it work fine? if not what is the best size to go with?

what size is on it now? 44mm seems big for that motor. I run a 41mm on my Z. the best way is to go with the same size or 1 to 2 mm bigger and then have it jetted for the motor

I put a 38mm carb on my LT230 and I had to put in smaller jets than what they call for. I would not go too big unless you have a big cam or a big bore kit

WAY to big. a rancher 350 carb fits easily. i think its 32-33 mm. your stock is prolly 26-29mm.
