Default Is it possible the z250 is bottoming out on small jumps?

At the end of a great day of riding, my son(170#) says he was bottoming out on the jumps. He was maybe getting 2-3ft of air, landing flat on the dirt. I bounced up and down on it as hard as I could(220#) and cannot hit bottom. I did not have a chance to jump it. Ya think it's even possible, or he's just feeling the stiff suspension?

Thanks

i used to have one of these, mine done the same thing, me and my cousin had a jump(he also had a z250) that we could get 5ft of air and we would jump it and they would bottom out but we adjusted the shocks it helped some but still landed hard.

Id say he is bottoming out. Im only 160lbs and I can bottom out my 700 and I dont get to crazy jumping. It takes more than a 3 foot jump but its not hard to do. I could stiffen up the suspention but I have it set pretty soft because I like it that way.

The shocks only have a preload adjuster, should I stiffen them up a bit? Will this help?

Adjusting the preload will help some if it is set soft and he is bottoming out. I think that the suspension may be too stiff for him and that is what he is feeling. I am 135lbs and have my preload in the middle and rarely bottom out. The best thing to do is just mess with it until he finds out what is confortable for him.

I would say stiffen those shocks up because he is deffinatly bottoming out i used to bottom out my blaster on almost any just that didnt have a landing. I weigh 180#s so it is very likley he is bottoming out.
