Default Quadrunner electrical problems

I am having ongoing probs with electrics on my LT-F160 Quadrunners. I have 3 x 2000 model and 3 x 2002. This is perhaps significant as Suzuki changed the stator in 00 from a stator having a primary coil to one without.

Several of the stators have burnt out and most of the pickup/pulser coils. I have tried getting the stators rewound here - what a joke! I can buy the odd pulsar coil from 2nd hand bike dealers and have fitted those to replace broken ones. I am trying to get new stators for the 3 machines that are disabled now.

Any idea what is causing this to my mind exceptionally high failure rate. I wondered if it could be people or staff leaving ignition turned on. Doesn't affect the Hondas at all though. Is it a known problem with these Suzukis? Is there anything that I can do to stop it happening again?

Cheers, PK.
