Default 2004 starter button problem susuki ltz 250

i have a ltz 250 susuki quad and its been flawless up to this point. there is power and evrything but when you try pushing the starter button nothing will happen. there is power to the system and i was told that when your in neutral you don't even have to pull in the brake to start it. the switch was in the on position also. is there a way of testing this push button or can i jump the wires to get it to start.... has anyone had this problem and what have you done to rectifiy it????

You may have gotten some moisture in the assembly, causing a short, or more likely since you still have power, corrosion and a bad connection. Try cleaning up the contact points, that may get you back up and running.
