Default Hard shifting on Ozark while it is cold

I just got a new Ozark (2 hours on it). When the engine is cold it is almost impossible to shift up from the 1st gear to the 2nd. After warming up (by 10 min. easy riding) there is no problem anymore with the shifting.
Is it normal by a new Ozark? Will it be better in a time?

Why the shifting is dependent from the engine´s temperature?

Both of our Ozarks do the same thing so I'm thinking it's normal for Ozarks. Since it's better for the engine to warm it up for a few minutes before giving it full throttle anyway, it may be for the best that the Ozark is "flawed" in this way. We always start up our Ozarks and let them idle for a few minutes before riding them so we rarely notice the shifting problem.

I'm guessing it does this because it takes a few minutes for the engine oil to warm up and bathe the clutch/transmission since there is no separate transmission or clutch fluid?

When my dad has his ozark it did that when it was cold between 1st and 2nd. It quit after it got warm and didnt seem to do it as the machine got older.

Both of my Ozarks have shifting problems from time to time. More so when cold. It has got better with age though.

I am an amateur, so maybe the questions will sound stupid:

1.) Are the Transmission and Clutch bathed in a special gear oil?
2.) This oil´s temperature does depend from the engine´s oil temerature?
3.) Is that the reason, why the shifting is so hard while the engine is cold?

Thank you, Adrian

Its normal to have it shift hard I found a trick once i warmed it up though you rev the engine up a little bit and then shift and it seems to shift easier but make sure you let off the throttle when shifting. I had my ozark since 02 and loved the thing but just got rid of it for a new honda 450r.
