im rebuilding my 87 230 and need to no the touqe specs for the top end...head bolts and such...also i cant seem to fine the timing mark on the cam gear...thanks for any help on this

 

i think the torque specs are about 22 pounds ant the timing marks are on the end of the cam.they are 2 slots and they have to be in line with the top of the head surface,at least thats what it is for my 250..hope this helps.

 

According to my clymer manual the cylinder head specs are 5-8 ft-lbs for the 6mm nuts and 15-18 ft-lbs for the 8mm nuts. The cylinder head cover bolts are 6.5-8 ft-lbs. The cylinder base nuts are 5-8 ft-lbs.
