Can anyone share how to get the outter boot on. I know I have to seperate the joint from the shaft, and everything says hit it with a hammer and it will come free, but that is not working, it is like there is a clip holding it from the back side. I have a 2005 vinson manual shift. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am supposed to go on a ride in the morning, and right now I have my axle sitting on a bench waiting for a new boot.

 

Well I broke down and took the inner one apart to change the outer boot, but no I can't figure out how to use the band tightening tool. It is from the www.erlandsonperformance.com it is the ecomomy one, any one with any insight would be appreciated.
