ive got a 87 230 quadrunner and i need to no how to time it...the crank timing is marked so thats a no brainer but i dont no where to set the cam, on the face of the cam there 2 dash marks on eather side in the middle and theres a E on the outer edge, other then those marks i see nothing...someone please help me with this, all i need to do is time the thing and ill be ripping up the trails...

u line up the two lines on the cam with the surface of the head. i did that today on my quadsport 230

 

i did that today but theres no compression at all...is it possable that its 180 degrees off...

 

then the cam is upside down or it is differenton a quadrunner. i have a quadsport. do u kno the little **** that sticks out of the cam and sort of holds the sprocket on? is it over to the left or under to the right? mine is up to the left and i have compression

 

so it sounds like ur cam is upside down if that would even matter

 

ok tomorrow ill try rotating it 180 degrees and see what happens....hey man thanks a lot for the info
