Default General engine question.

2 stroke engines have been tapped out technology wise. Well thats what I thought. Every company is going to 4 stroke because they are becoming much more powerful. Why havent they ever came out with a fuel injected 2 stroke. Is it possible?

Default General engine question.

You know whats ironic i was just thinking that the other day of how to set up a fuel injected 2 stroke weird they could prob do it but I would think the oil would have to be directly injected into the cyclinder as I think the injectors would get clogged up much easier but if it is possible to do so I think it would be an awesome setup...and if they could find a way for 2 strokes to come back and be more efficient and come up to epa standards.

Default General engine question.

FI 2 strokes exist, in PWC for sure.

I always had the idea of having a FI 2 stroke with the crank bearings bathed in oil like a 4 stroke & lube the top via conventional means. Would still burn oil but would have 4 stroke bottom end reliability.

Default General engine question.

There are very clean FI 2 strokes out there on the market. The injector is pointed at the port and just as the piston covers the port the fuel is injected.
The down side is expense.
