Well, the 1986 QuadSPORT was a 230cc 4 stroke. The LT250(R) was a 2 stroke, also called the Quadracer. If you have the former, there should be a small lever up on the handlebars that operates the decompression feature. IIRC, you slowly kick the engine over until it gets to the hardest part(Top Dead Center), press the decompression lever and again slowly kick until the lever pops back up. Then let the kickstart lever back up to the top and give 'er a good kick. Or if you are a man, just get it to TDC and kick without using the decomp. Best to be wearing a steel shank boot this way though If you have the Quadracer, then just get it to TDC and give it a sharp kick. If mine doesn't start right up, I usually just give it a few quick, sharp kicks in a row starting from TDC. Both the sport and just about every racer I have ever ridden liked the throttle cracked just a touch when kicking over.

I have no clue what a "starter limiter" is. Can you descriibe it in better detail? Where it is located/what it looks like? Also, which machine do you have, the 2 or 4 stroke?

The starter limiter (thats what the manual says it is) is on the other side of the carb from the choke lever, its like a lil cicrcle *** that you could push in and pull out like a quater inch. When i move the choke up and down and push the starter limiter in i could feel the starter limiter make the choke now not able to go all the way down, its a 4 stroke

i cant thank you guys anof
