Default Eiger fuel issue?

Went riding this weekend on alot of trails and my eiger died on me. It would idle fine but would go when I pushed the throttle more than a quarter of the way. Got back and pulled carb off and found an ant in the main jet. Put carb back on and ran great except it wont run with the petcock in the ON or RES position. It runs great on Prime. Could I have pinched a hose or something putting the carb back in? Anyone know how the vent line is supposed to hook up that goes to the carb?

Make sure you hooked all the hoses back up, if so! sounds like you reversed the vent & vacuum lines.

The vent from under the seat should go to a port on the left side of the carb close to the top that is angled up & back.

The other line is a vacuum line that goes to the fuel valve and opens it when the engine is running.

Well thanks Rags! I will pull it back apart and see. I saw a line that goes to the top of the carb and comes out under the seat that doesnt hook to anything. I havent seen the other vacuum line your talking about though. Also blew a fuse in my fan somehow or another.

Nevermind I found the vacuum line off on the back of the petcock. It was really difficult to see but I got it back on and it works great again.

That was a great answer, Rags. Definitely a level above the usual blatherscyte you hear from most posters in here. Nice.
