Quick Question on a Z400
#11
I just got back from a trip to Little Sahara OK last week. My buddy's 05 Z400 has a HMF slip on. It definitely had a lot less low end grunt compared to mine - very noticable when doing slow dune climbs/sidehilling. I'm not sure if the difference is more slip on vs full exhaust or CT vs HMF. I do know that his bike is a lot louder than mine which everyone at LS seems to love. The HMF does provide a noticable difference in power compared to stock. My sisters 05 Z400 is bone stock and we were switching bike to bike for comparison. We all have Sand Stars so you can't say that tires made a difference.

if you plan on doing any internal motor mods, get the full system. if you do alot of trail riding and want alittle more low end. go down 1 tooth on the front sprocket. it cost like $12. lose alittle on top end but the low end torque is nice!!! if you ride on sand with paddles id def.. go down 1.
