LT-R450 valve train issue
#1
just some FYI for our friends with LT-R450's
I saw a machine yesterday for it's first service. When the valve lash was being inspected, the tech noticed marking on the camshafts. These markings/ scratches went thru the hardcote on the cams ruining them and the tappets. (like peeling chrome if you will). the cams were removed and the head is junk as well, as the cam journals are wiped out. Luckly this machine is under warranty. Bottom line is this, take that fuel tank off and check those valves, once the marks are in the cams, they will go downhill quick. Sorry for the bad news, but a heads up is always nice to keep yer eyes open.
