yo, Iam not 100% sure but I think that most stock chains dont hav a master link (like aftermarket master links)..atleast I dont think mine did

If I remember right I had to grind off a link in the stock 1, when I put a new chain on for the 1st time...

There is a master link, it just does not look like a traditional master link. It looks like at the others for the most part, but it was put together at one point so there is a removable link. You are better off getting a chain breaker and buying a master-link. It will be easier than trying to find and remove the factory link.

they come without a master link they are riveted. if you dont need to take the chain off dont worry about it.
when you put a connector link in you create a weak spot in your chain

you need a chain breaker to remove it or grind the rivets on 1 link and then buy a master link for it

Buy the chain breaker, and 2 extra master links, and keep some extra chain links with you too.

Ripped my chain on a rock first ride out on Memorial Day one year. Without those, my weekend would have been over a lot earlier.

You dont need to break the chain to get it off do you? couldnt you loosen it enough to get it off both sprockets then lift the rear wheels off the ground to remove it from the bike?
