Default hot cams stage2 intake w/stage1 exaust?

I am running stage 2 hot cams intake/exaust,but I'm having problems with her not decompressing (so she won't start).I called Hot Cams and they said I need the new exaust cam with the decompression unit on it (like the stock cams)But they only make them in stage 1.He said I could run stage 2 intake and stage 1 exaust.I'm a little worried that it would make the motor do crazy .... not run harmonious. My next alternative is to get web cams.

Personally I have not messed with cams in a quad, BUT I am car guy too & most all cams for V-8s are split lift & duration for the intake & exhaust. However, the exhaust side usually has more lift & duration to compensate for the smaller valve size.

Find out the cam specs for each. I'd say if the duration is the same or very close (I.E. if the stage 1 exh. cam is close to stage 2's intake duration) it would run fine.

Do a little research.
