lt-r 450 owners

Well I have a 'zilla that's been modded quite a bit, and with just the CB, Lid off, and Baffle out, th ltr450 would probably win in a short distance (330ft) race. The r450, being a 4-stroke, has killer low-end torque, but on top-end, the zilla would probably cruise on by. .
But all in all, I love the ltr450. .

lt-r450 would beat your zilla in a 300ft drag? why? the zilla has 50cc advantage and 2 stroke,
WHY IS IT CALLED A ZILLA IF THE 450FOURSTROKES CAN BEAT IT? PEOPLE ALWAYS DISAPPOINT ME BY TELLING ME THAT QUADS I LOVE ARENT WHAT PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE.
and i wanted to see a zilla drag................................sigh

2-strokes are like a small block chevy (high rpm torque), 4 strokes are like a big block (good torque all the time) and the ltr450 already revs really high (with CB to bypass rev limiter) so that being said, a 2-stroke you have to hold wide open to get as good of a holeshot as you do 3/4 throttle down on a ltr450. That's just my .02 worth. . . I mean my clutch slips some on the zilla if you get on it really hard all at once, but the 450 just has "pull your hands off the handlebars" acceleration. . .
Probably would be really close though if my clutch wasn't slipping on the 500.

well mine will run with em all pretty good in 300' sand drag, or just racing out on the ground. a honda with pipe and Jet with stage 2 cam won't hang in he does a lil out the hole, but then i just pull away. a YFZ with the cam mod pipe and jet, ignition box, and a good rider its neck and neck who ever gets out the hole better. Raptor 700 or 660 pipe and jet bout the same as the honda. i have a Yoshi pipe and Programmer, and a air filter mod. i love mine its my baby

It doesn't really matter the size of the engine it has to do with alot of things like power to weight ratio...the new 450's are much lighter then a quadzilla therefore when you add everything up the power to weight ratios make the quads pretty equal or around the same...It all depends on the setup of the bike and the quadzilla in general isn't up to date like one of the 450's, so take all that into consideration.

I have had my LTR since last February. I was one of the first in CA to get one and I have not been disappointed since. All the stories about it being a beast are true. I went ahead and put a long travel on mine...so much more plush through the chop. I also had a mild cams & port/polish & full exhaust done by DASA...total of 58 hp on the DASA dyno...stock piston & all on pump gas...The motor has so much more potential than any of us realized. Go +1 on the valves & big bore will net you another 4hp...thats 62 total on pump gas...insane...
How does it stack up? In my opinion it is the very best bang for your buck that you can get. Extended a-arms are factory. Get a $400 shock rebuild from TCS (thats for all 3) and they rival any high end aftermarket shock. Then $30 for a CRBM, tear the lid off the airbox & pull the pea shooter...bam 7hp...plenty of power & a smooth stable ride for less than $450...
If you own one then you know what I'm talking about...if your thinking of getting one then I highly recommend it...
